Track Dogs are two Irishmen, an Englishman and an American, (Garrett Wall, Dave Mooney, Howard Brown & Robbie K.Jones), whose artistic name derives from the dark subterranean world of New York?s subway system. If they are still new to you, check out previous releases Kansas City Out Groove, Fire on the Rails and Where to Now? and see why they are so hard to pigeonhole.
Formed in the Autumn of 2006 in Madrid around the eclectic line-up of acoustic guitar, electric bass, trumpet and cajón, over the following 15 years they have added banjo, ukulele and mandolin as well as honing their four part vocal harmonies, now very much an integral part of their ?sound?.
Well-established in Spain where they are based, they are surprising music lovers everywhere with ?Sun-shiny songs thriving on dark themes behind irresistible rhythms.? After a fortuitous invitation to the Costa del Folk festival in Ibiza they have teamed up with Firebrand Music in the UK, who also represent folk legends Show of Hands, and with whom they have released a 23 track live album from their 2022 UK tour ?The Dog Show Sessions?. Show of Hands recently announced the band will be joining them for their next performance at the Royal Albert Hall on April 10th.
With 7 albums under their belts (9 if you count the two they recorded as Garrett Wall Band 2006-2010) their versatile and accessible style allows Track Dogs to be at home in festivals as diverse as Americana Music Madrid, Electric Picnic (Ireland?s premiere mega-festival), Grand Northern Ukulele Festival, Shrewsbury Folk Festival, Folk Alliance Intl, Cork Jazz Festival or even Trafalgar Square?s Saint Patrick?s Day super stage.
Perhaps the name of the genre that ticks all those boxes is ?Track Dogs Music?.
