Bonding over a love of Casio watches, the four members of Casiokids came together in their hometown of Bergen, Norway in 2004. Blending synthpop, a hefty dose of 8-bit chip tune and angular post-punk guitars, while being admittedly heavily influenced both by New Order and Paul Simon, Casiokids is difficult to place in one genre. Its ability to shape-shift into multiple genres has garnered the band a broad fan base and one perfectly happy with the band singing in its native Norwegian tongue--the band's single "Grønt lys i alle ledd" was the first Norwegian language single to be released in the UK on popular indie label Moshi Moshi. Because of its unique sound and live performances described as chaotic on-stage dance parties, Casiokids continues to win over audiences worldwide.
