Maurizio Pisciottu, who performs and releases music under his Salmo guise, is an Italian musician who blends elements of hip-hop with hardcore punk to create a unique and unmistakable sound. Salmo released his debut album, The Island Chainsaw Massacre, in 2011 and the LP's unapologetically crude horrorcore story--about a chainsaw massacre on an island--helped establish Salmo as controversial figure on the modern Italian music scene. With a devil may care attitude and a personality to seems to relish in controversy, Salmo has continued to shock listeners and audiences with his characteristically reckless style.
