Liane Foly is a French jazz singer who blends smokey elements of pop and blues into her sound. Hailing from Lyon, she moved to Paris with nothing but a demo tape and began to build a name for herself in clubs around the city. She signed with Virgin France and released her debut album The Man I Love, in 1988. Led by the success of its debut single "Ca va, ca vient," the album was met with commercial acclaim. As she continued to release new albums, she also began acting in films such as 1995's Zadoc et le bonheur, and 2009's La Liste. A seasoned entertainer, Foly released her twelfth album, Le gout du desir, in 2008.
