Canadian singer, songwriter and dancer Tatum Rosner McRae, known professionally as Tate McRae, is known for her brand of emotive alternative pop. The Calgary native began dancing competitively at the age of eight with Drewitz Dance Productions, before studying at the Alberta Ballet Company. After winning the silver medal at the Youth America Grand Prix in 2015, she was rewarded with a two-week scholarship at the Berlin State Ballet company. The following year, she participated in the thirteenth season of So You Think You Can Dance, placing third in the finals. She created her YouTube channel in 2011 and started a 'Create with Tate' series, which showcased her original songs. She came into the limelight in 2019 after her original song "One Day" went viral on YouTube. It caught the attention of RCA Records and she signed a deal with them later that year. Her debut EP All the Things I Never Said was subsequently released in 2020, and featured the lead single "Tear Myself Apart," co-written by Billie Eilish and Finneas O'Connell. Her top songs include "One Day," "Teenage Mind," "Hung Up on You," "Shoulder to Shoulder," "happy face" and "Kids Are Alright."
