Stereo MC's is a London-based duo that has been bridging hip-hop and electronica since 1985. While that combination may seem trivial as the two popular genres are now all but synonymous in modern music, the trio --composed of The Head, Rob B and Owen If -- broke several boundaries of what is now considered the golden age of hip-hop. After releasing two full-length LPs, Stereo MC's broke into mainstream audiences with its 1992 album, Connected. Despite its new found wide-spread appeal, the band took its time with the follow-up record and finally released a remix album, called DJ-Kicks: Stereo MCs, nearly a decade later in 2000. While Stereo MC's continues to release albums, the members also rose to recognition as producers and went on to produce tracks for iconic artists like Madonna.
