Though Baroque music is generally regarded as a rather listless style of music, Johann Sebastian Bach was able to play around with the genre within his works, creating some extremely impressive arrangements. The German composer is regarded with much respect in the larger artistic community, credited with bringing an air of intellectual panache to his orchestrations. His use of rhythmic timing, harmonic textures and virtuostic playing were staples of his sound and Bach was admired greatly for his talent and dexterous songwriting ability both in his lifetime and ever since his death in 1750.
