San Lorenzo de Almagro is not just one of the strongest teams of the Primera División, it is considered to be one of the top five best football clubs in Argentina. The team was founded in 1908 in the district of Boedo, Buenos Aires and is its most successful club. It played at the Viejo Gasómetro for the longest time before shifting its base to the Estadio Pedro Bidegain. With a history that stretches over a century San Lorenzo has accumulated numerous prestigious trophies including Primera División title, The Copa Campeonato del Río de la Plata, Copa Aldao and Copa Libertadores. It has also been home to several top class players such as Jorge Higuaín, Ezequiel Lavezzi and Pablo Zabaleta.
