The core of the Celtic punk-rock band Flatfoot 56 is comprised of three brothers. Tobin, Justin and Kyle Bawinkel began as a straight-forward punk band in autum of 2000 in their home of Chicago. The game plan changed with the addition of Josh Robieson in 2001, however. Robieson introduced bagpipes and mandolin to the band's sound, turning the standard punk material into an Oi! and Celtic influenced project that bears similarities to popular Celtic punk groups such as Flogging Molly and the Dropkick Murphys.
