Alison Moyet is a British singer who first gained fame as co-leader of the influential early 1980s synthpop act Yazoo. After the group imploded in 1983, Moyet would go on to launch a successful a solo career, starting with her 1984 debut album, Aft. Her powerful voice and her characteristic soul style has branded her as a idiocentric talent on the British music scene. In addition to her busy recording and touring schedule, Moyet managed to find the time to make her stage debut in the West End production of the musical Chicago in 2001.
