Hailing from Devon, England, John Smith is an unsigned guitarist and singer who has toured with the likes of Iron and Wine, Jools Holland and Lisa Hannigan. He has self-released four albums: The Fox and the Monk (2006), Map or Direction (2009), Eavesdropping (2011) and Great Lakes (2013). In his newest album, Smith pays homage to his youth in a fishing village by mixing plenty of water imagery into his romantic ballads, such as in the songs "Salty and Sweet" and "Perfect Storm." Already a regular on the UK festival circuit, John Smith has brought his smooth folk and unique steel-string electric guitar style across the pond to Canada and the US.
