The Cork Midsummer Festival incorporates a wide range of disciplines including music, drama, literature and sculpture. A huge bonfire and fireworks display forms the centerpiece. For those interested in literature, a symposium on specialized topics and authors are held as well. The festival always brings art out onto the streets through street theater, visual art installations, concerts, literary events and a host of other original spectacles. Hours of the event vary. Check website for more details.
