Husband-wife duo Toby Grave--formerly of Blessure Grave--and Shiloe Alia began making music together in late 2010 and within six months had named themselves Soft Kill and released a debut album. The duo's music, and general aesthetic, fall under the dark wave category, brimming with somber vocals reminiscent of Joy Division and angular new wave-influenced guitars. After catching the ear of Nathan Howdeshell from The Gossip, Soft Kill was promptly signed to his record label Fast Weapons and typically performs live with Howdeshell on bass.
