The Ohio Players are a funk band from Dayton, Ohio that scored a number of hits throughout the 1970s with "Love Rollercoaster" and "Fire." Originally founded in 1959 as a palatable soul group, as the group continued to release more music and tour it found itself wading into more dance-friendly R&B and funk territory. Continuing to carry the mantle into the 21st century, the Ohio Players are regarded as one of the more notable funk acts of its generation.
