Noel Night began in 1975 and is now one of Detroit's most treasured traditions. Produced by the University Cultural Center Association and sponsored by MASCO Corporation, the Noel Night takes place in the Midtown Detroit's University Cultural Center Area. Over 30 institutions, including the Detroit Institute of Arts, the New Detroit Science Center and the Charles H. Wright Museum of African American History will open their doors to the public - offering numerous activities including holiday shopping, family craft activities and performances by over 40 area groups. The evening's festivities wind up with a community sing-along on Woodward Avenue lead by the Salvation Army Band - a long-standing Noel Night tradition. Noel Night activities take place in and around Midtown Detroit's Cultural Center institutions. Free shuttle service is available, with stops throughout Midtown. Convenient parking is available in area lots.
