The Michigan-based horrorcore hip-hop duo Twiztid is considered a Protégé of the notoriously unwholesome group Insane Clown Posse. While the thought of any sort of mentorship under the care of Insane Clown Posse is slightly disheartening, it happened back in 1997 and this quasi-apprenticeship helped foster the budding duo during its formative years. By bringing Twiztid on tour with them and offering them a recording contract, the Insane Clown Posse exposed Twiztid to a new generation of fans and unsurprisingly the group was accepted with open arms by the horrorcore masses. The duo is now a go-to act for individuals that like to paint their faces with black and white make-up, wear over-sized black clothing and listen to strange music that a good amount of people find difficult to listen to.
