The American death metal band Nile is unlike most bands in that it has a focused central theme that runs throughout most, if not all, of its songs. The theme, Egyptology, is pervasive throughout a good majority of the group's music and even though some people might scoff at the idea of a metal band singing about Egyptians, Nile is extremely dedicated to its approach and intent on pushing the musical boundaries that it has created for itself. The group was formed in 1993 and with years of touring under its belt, the group has grown into one of the more highly respected abstract and technical metal groups of its generation.
