English singer-songwriter Danny Worsnop, best-known as the lead singer of the bands Asking Alexandria and We Are Harlot, is a successful solo artist as well. Raised in Gilberdyke, England, he first started playing the violin at eight years old. He later took up the trumpet, guitar and bass as well, kindling his interest in rock and metal music. In 2008, when he joined Ben Bruce's Asking Alexandria as the lead vocalist, Worsnop was still undecided about a career in music. However, the band's 2009 debut Stand Up and Scream met with success in the USA, thus convincing Worsnop to pursue music fulltime. After a successful stint with Asking Alexandria, he decided to dabble in lighter music and formed the supergroup We Are Harlot with guitarist Jeff George in 2011. In 2017, Worsnop released his first solo album, The Long Road Home, which chronicled his addiction issues and battles with his 'inner demons.'
