IQ is a progressive rock band from Southampton, England that was founded in 1981. Having undergone a number of stylistic variations and evolutions over its decades long existence, the group started out as a chamber-music inspired experimental rock outfit only to adopt a hard edged, heavy metal sound and then fall into a straight forward, instrumentally adept modern prog rock outfit.
