Matt Stell is a country music singer-songwriter hailing from Center Ridge, AR. While on an athletic scholarship at Drury University, MO, he started songwriting, taught himself to play the guitar and played local gigs with his band under the stage name Paul Wayne Walker. He released three independent albums - The Sound and the Story, Vestibule Blues and A River Through It - in the early 2010s, opened for artists like Luke Bryan and Eric Church, and wrote for the likes of Casey Donahew. In 2014, shortly before starting Harvard University's pre-med program, he was signed by Wide Open Music, effectively kickstarting his music career. His 2018 single "Prayed for You" was named as one of the '10 Best Country Songs to Hear Now' by Rolling Stone and caught the attention of music producer Barry Weiss who signed him to his label RECORDS. The single amassed over 40 million plays on Spotify within a year and was viewed over 4 million times on YouTube in less than a year. It was certified Gold by the RIAA in 2019 and is one his most successful songs.
