Germany's second largest film festival (after Berlin) is held jointly in Mannheim and Heidelberg. The festival features movies by young, up-and-coming directors and has in the past helped directors like Jim Jarmusch and Wim Wenders achieve international acclaim. Two films are shown every day - often in the presence of the director - over a period of ten days, at the end of which an international jury awards prizes for the best film, best documentary and best short film. Please check the event's website for a complete program and a list of venues.
