Marc Maron is an American stand-up comedian and podcast host originally from New Jersey. In the 1990s, Maron built his reputation within the crowded New York City comedy scene, eventually landing an audition for Saturday Night Live in 1995. Although he didn't get the job, more opportunities quickly arose, including an appearance on Dr. Katz, Professional Therapist. Maron's style thrives on anger, fearless honesty and self-deprecation as he rants about social interaction, politics and his own neurotic tendencies. In 2009, he found a new outlet for his material in the form of the WTF with Marc Maron podcast, which captures funny and sometimes painfully honest conversations between Maron and fellow members of the comedy and entertainment world.
