An annual eight-day film festival held during the last week in January at various venues in and around Lafayette.
The Festival will screen nearly 200 films from around the world -- including U.S., Louisiana and World premieres -- with over 200 filmmakers, producers, actors, musicians, distributors, grant source representatives and other industry professionals in attendance from across the United States and Canada, as well as from Japan, Australia, India, the U.K. and France. In addition to the film screenings, the Festival will present expert panel discussions, workshops, filmmaker Q&A's, nightly parties and live music.
The Festival is now unique among film festivals in the U.S. in that it regularly screens a large number of French-language independent films and presents filmmakers from throughout the Francophone world, making Cinema on the Bayou the center of Francophone independent film in the U.S.
A complete description of the films and schedule of the events will be posted on the Festival website.
