Roberto Fonseca is a jazz pianist from Havana, Cuba, who has built a reputation for himself as one of the more talented Cuban jazz pianists of his generation. Raised in an extremely musical family, Fonseca began playing piano at the age of 8 and was soon experimenting with blending quintessential elements of American jazz with Latin American rhythms. Growing into a sensation in his native Havana, Fonseca wasn't exposed to a larger, international audience until he released his 1999 debut album, Tiene Que Ver.
