James Acaster is a stand-up comedian from Northamptonshire, England, who got his start in entertainment as the drummer of various local bands. He eventually embraced his affinity for comedy and began to make the rounds on the local club circuit before landing a gig at the 2009 Edinburgh Festival Fringe alongside fellow comedians Josh Widdicomb and Nick Helm. Following the performance, he headed into the 2010s on tour in support of acts including Milton Jones and Josie Long. By 2011, he earned his first of several solo shows at Edinburgh Festival, which have gone on to earn international critical acclaim.
