Best known as the lead vocalist of the British folk rock band Martin Stephenson & the Daintees, Martin Stephenson is a singer/songwriter and guitarist who pulls from several realms of music such as rockabilly, punk and pop to craft his own rootsy sound. After The Daintees took off in the mid-1980s, he dedicated the early days of his musical career to his band, but after four LPs, he broke up the group and released his debut solo album, High Bells Ring Thin, in 1993. Ten solo records and nearly a decade later, he reformed Martin Stephenson & the Daintees in 2000 and released its first studio album in fifteen years, 2008's Western Eagle. Stephenson continued to keep up his busy solo endeavors, often releasing an album or two a year, and also began to collaborate with other artists and as a part of various groups, such as Stephenson's Rockets.
