Formed in San Francisco in the late 90s with members of Pavement and Fuck, Film School shot to the forefront of the Bay Area indie rock scene. Dense with brooding shoegaze and self-contained lamentations, but also demonstrating a penchant for infectious guitar riffs and catchy chorus hooks, Film School grabbed the attention of prominent indie label Beggars Banquet. While the band's popularity died out a bit during its three year hiatus, Film School released another album in 2010 that reconfirmed the band as one that pays attention to detail and is more than capable of creating quality music.
