Every year, in the middle of July, this burgeoning two day Caribbean Carnival of Manchester reaches out to bring friendship among the multicultural communities of the area. It may be smaller than its counterpart in Notting Hill, but this is still one of the best, most enjoyable and popular summer events in Manchester. Offering great family entertainment, Saturday is devoted to the colorful procession, which now also visits the city center, while Sunday boasts the Manchester Splash music event featuring local gospel, steel bands, reggae and much more. Admission is free.
