Toronto-based Bedouin Soundclash emerged on the scene in 2001 with its debut album Root Fire. It was not until the mid 2000s, however, that the band gained mainstream recognition. 2005 saw the band's single "When the Night Feels My Song" receive major airplay. Also that year, the band joined the Vans Warped tour and topped the BBC charts. Its sound is principally reggae-based, but it also features elements of 3rd wave ska and alt-rock. Bedouin Soundclash has continued to go strong, with a solid string of releases and a consistently devoted fan base all over the world.
