Established in 1970, the Mad Hat Tigers are a junior ice hockey team that plays in the Western Hockey League (WHL). One of the Central Division's most successful teams, the Tigers have been WHL champions on five different occasions (1973, 1987, 1988, 2004, 2007) and two-time Memorial Cup winners in 1987 and 1988. They are based out of Medicine Hat, Alberta and play their home matches at the indoor Canalta Centre.
