Maldita Vecindad is a Mexico City-based band that blends together elements of alternative rock and ska to create a unique sonic amalgam. Founded in 1985, the group gigged around Mexico during its formative years, honing its sound and refining its songwriting approach, before releasing its debut album, Maldita Vecindad y los Hijos del Quinto Patio, in 1989.
