Patrick Watson is singer/songwriter from Montreal whose indie pop/rock sound bares classical music influences. He released his debut solo album Waterproof9, in 2001 before forming his eponymous band with guitarist Simon Angell, bassist Mishka Stein and percussionist Robbie Kuster. The band Patrick Watson released its debut album Just Another Ordinary in 2003, and received critical acclaim for its 2006 follow-up Close to Paradise, which earned the band a nomination for the New Artist of the Year Juno Award in 2007. The band is known for using of unusual instrumentation such as a bicycle in the track "Beijing" and spoons as guitar picks in the song "Man Like You," to create its experimental sound. The band released its 2012 album, Adventures In Your Own Backyard in 2012, offering a less experimental and more indie pop sound than its previous work.
