Originally from the UK, Jon Cleary is a musician who has studied the funk and R&B music and culture of New Orleans since he relocated to Louisiana in the 1980s. Cleary released his debut solo album Alligator Lips & Dirty Rice in 1994, and has collaborated with several notable musicians such as B.B. King. He is the front man, keyboardist and vocalist of the Jon Cleary & the Absolute Monster Gentlemen, which released its self-titled album in 2002. The band is a consistent act at the annual Jazz and Heritage Festival in New Orleans and has played some of the largest music festivals in the country including Bonnaroo.
