World Atlas is an indie pop band from Brooklyn, New York that got its start like many rising bands in and around the area by producing several tracks in a bedroom since forming in 2006. Based on the band's self-titled debut EP, World Atlas seems to take a suitably "cartographic" approach to creating music, hoping to use its music to chart the progression of pop music through the ages in a way that provides listeners with a sense of nostalgia while providing a clear vision of the genre's future. Despite the band's almost academic method of music making, World Atlas includes several surprises in the form of combining disparate genres of music that are as entertaining to listen to as they are educational.
