Sleepy Kitty is a St. Louis based band that started not as a
band at all but rather a project of audio/visual compositions that captured the
aesthetics of their city. The Chicago transplants Evan Sult and Paige Brubeck, a
couple and the two members of Sleepy Kitty were attempting to move away from
their pop roots. Their efforts to do so proved to be in vain, because out of
their experimental project which mixed weird noises for visuals came Sleepy
Kitty a pop-rock band with wide array of influences and noises and melodies. Sleepy
Kitty has a lot of sound for just two members, Brubeck loops her vocals live to
create layered harmonies. Their energetic and upbeat sound combined with their
visual art makes Sleepy Kitty an interesting and dynamic act with more to offer
than just visuals or audios: they offer both.
