The grandson of award-winning trumpeter Doc Cheatham, Theo Croker, is a jazz trumpeter and a bandleader. Croker traveled to Shanghai on the quest to expand his knowledge of jazz and to incorporate other genres into his music. He held a residency in the Shanghai House of Blues for five months. This was followed by his role as a music director for the show Asia Uncut Star Network. Shanghai brought him the opportunity to perform with Dee Dee Bridgewater who later produced Croker’s debut album AfroPhysicist under her own label.
