Jon Batiste is a pianist, singer/songwriter, composer and arranger who owns a jazz fusion style laced with elements of classic pop, soul and blues. Born and raised in Louisiana, he grew up in a musically-inclined family and was encouraged from a young age to express himself through various genres. In addition to serving as the Art Director of the National Jazz Museum in Harlem, he has solidified himself as a pillar of modern jazz through his own music. Batiste released his debut album, Times in New Orleans in 2005, and has since formed his own backing band, Stay Human, with whom he continues to tour and release records, such as 2013's Social Music Jon Batiste and Stay Human.
