Based on A Servant to Two Masters by Carlo Goldoni, One Man, Two Guvnors is an updated comedic take on the tale of deceit, lies and mistaken identity. When he is fired from his skiffle band, Francis Henshall takes up two jobs to make ends meet. One of his jobs is with someone he believes to be Roscoe Crabbe, but is actually his sister Rachel posing as her brother, who has been murdered by her boyfriend, Stanley Stubbers. Francis's second job is with none other than the murderer Stanley Stubbers himself, in hiding from the police and waiting to be reunited with Rachel. Francis must keep the two apart to avoid discovery, a task that proves both challenging and entertaining.
