WASTED YOUTH
London 1979

Wasted Youth, the original post-punk pre-goth cult band from 1979-82, features original members Ken Scott (Vocals) and Rocco Barker (Gtr), with new members Alan Temple (Drums), Josef Rosam (Gtr) and Sabrina Amade (Bass). Whilst paying respect and having great love for the ?old? Wasted Youth, the ?new? Wasted Youth are not a nostalgia act and are eager to prove that they have something new to offer, both visually and sonically.

Wasted Youth, who reformed initially for one gig in February 2022, have gone from strength to strength ever since. They supported the Psychedelic Furs on all dates of their UK tour in 2022, including the iconic Royal Albert Hall. They built on the demand for more shows by playing four more sold-out headline shows in London, including The PowerHaus (now called ?Dingwalls?) and The Oslo in Hackney.

In 2023, Wasted Youth took their vibrant and contemporary sound to fans old and new around the country, playing 16 headline shows, all of which were a real triumph, with fans, venues and promoters all asking for their return at a later date. Wasted Youth also played the Wide-Awake Festival in London, the Rebellion Festival in Blackpool and headlined the Portobello Live festival. Just recently, they were special guests of PWEI (Pop Will Eat Itself) at four sold-out shows in Birmingham and London. They finished the year by headlining the ?Xmas Reimagined? show in London, which was completely sold-out two months before the gig.

2024 sees Wasted Youth take their show on the road and are playing at a venue near you, see you there!

There are plenty of live reviews and YouTube footage of the band (both old and current) and up-to-date Facebook and Instagram pages. Wasted Youth have featured in four issues of ?Vive Le Rock? magazine in the past twelve months as well as receiving glowing contemporary reviews at online music sites such as ?Louder than War?, ?Kill your Pet Puppy?, ?Whisperinandhollerin? and ?Darker Side of Music? to name but a few.

Wasted Youth look forward to gigging at The Black Prince again having played there last year and loving the vibes!
