Founded in 1954 outside of Cincinnati, Ohio, The Isley Brothers has had one of the longest, most influential and more prolific careers of any band in popular music. Initially distinguishing itself as a gospel band during its formative years, the group would go on to evolve its sound considerably and dip its toes into funk, disco, soul and R&B. Known for its classic songs "Shout," "This Old Heart of Mine (Is Weak for You" and "Contagious," The Isley Brothers are still touring and releasing albums, helping to further solidify their standing in popular music's historial canon.
