Across A Barrier of Fear - The Life of Eleanor Roosevelt
Starring Ms. Jane VanBoskirk / Play by Sharon Whitney
Sunday, August 18th / Doors 3:30pm / Show 4pm
The Loft at Foothills Performing Arts & Civic Center
24 Market Street, Oneonta, NY
We meet Eleanor as a child, orphaned at 10, so withdrawn she is unable to speak in the presence of others. We see her find herself and trace her legacy across the years. Through her eyes, we witness the political rise of FDR. We experience the trauma of her husband's polio and her struggle to care for him. We witness her reinventing herself and the rols of First Lady. We become her confidants as she reveals the woman beneathe the icon and crusader for human rights.
"Everything I ever did was always accomplished across a barrier of fear." - Eleanor Roosevelt
