Texas Agricultural and Mechanical University is a public research university based out of College Station, Texas that was founded in 1876. The Aggies are the sports teams that compete for the university in NCAA Division I. The teams' moniker, "Aggies," is a nod to the rich agriculture programs that have helped propel the university to a respectable place within Texas and the larger academically-minded agriculture community. Though the school's athletic department plays host to a wide variety of sports, it is probably best known for its football program.
