Back in the 1990s, when the electronic music scene was just really starting to lift off, British duo Orbital was at the top of its game. The group made a distinct form of techno and during live performances, involving elements of improvisation--which, during the time, was rare for many electronic musicians. As the band's sound matured with time, the duo started incorporating elements of updated technology, which led experimentations with various ambient and acid house sounds. Though the duo disbanded for a period of time, both members reunited in 2009 and it's still considered one of the godfathers of the modern electronic music scene.
