Bringing together an intriguing mix of styles, this alternative band brings a whole new flavor to the Texas music scene from its hometown in Burton. The three-piece band is made up of guitarist Mark Speer, bassist Laura Lee and drummer Donald Johnson, Jr. With elements of vintage Thai funk, surf rock and Iranian pop amongst others, the Khruangbin's distinctive, largely-instrumental music hit a chord with audiences instantly, marking their debut single "A Calf Born in Winter" to be a resounding success. Following a slew of EPs, the band released their first full-length album, The Universe Smiles Upon You, in 2015 and the second, Con Todo el Mundo, in 2018.
