Karkwa is a Canadian indie rock band whose name is derived from the phonetic reading of the French word meaning "a quiver of arrows." Singing in both English and French, the Montreal-based band is a critical darling, as evidenced by the band's winning of the Polaris Music Prize in 2010 for their acclaimed album Les Chemins de verre.
