As a current or former member of groups such as Circa Survive, Saosin, The Sound of Animals Fighting and Zolof the Rock and Roll Destroyer, fans of emo and angst-y indie rock should already be familiar with Anthony Green. In addition to his collaborative projects, the Pennsylvania-based songwriter also maintains a solo career that affords him chances to branch out into different styles that wouldn't necessarily work with his bands. Green's soaring, high-pitched singing voice is probably his most identifiable characteristic and he uses it in full, drawing cathartic emotion out of nearly every phrase. Debuting with Avalon in 2008, he has now released a few solo full-lengths that explore acoustic balladry, poppy alternative rock and some of the more aggressive and experimental sounds of his bands in equal parts.
