Join us for a two-hour garden themed foraging tour at Klehm Arboretum & Botanic Garden with professional forager Dave Odd.Learn about common garden and landscape weeds and mushrooms that can also be used as food and medicine. We will also learn about food and medicine uses for garden and landscaping plants that aren't typically grown for those purposes! Dave always guarantees that we will find 50 different edible/medicinal wild plants or mushrooms on each foraging tour. Check out his amazing accomplishments and other programs on his websitehere. Bring a notebook and your walking shoes and join us for this amazing educational experience. You may look at your garden in a whole new way after the tour is done!We will start in our demonstration gardens then continue to explore the rest of the grounds as time allows.*We will not be eating any of the foraging finds on this tour as this is forest preserve land so, please come prepared to sign our waiver, take notes, and learn the safety rules of foraging responsibly*This program is made possible by the Pauline J. and John R. Cook Lecture Fund of the Community Foundation of Northern Illinois.
