The Candelora festival is a favorite event in Testaccio, one of the most typical of Roman districts. Besides the usual processions, this occasion includes a ceremony for the blessing of domestic candles of whoever brings them in from home. The day is filled with song, as the celebration presents the baby Jesus to the community. Admission is free.
