Feyenoord Rotterdam is one of the ‘Big Three’ in Dutch professional football, in addition to Ajax and FSV Eindhoven. It has been one of the most prolific teams as well, having garnered several Eredivisie titles, KNVB Cups and two UEFA Cups. The team’s original name was Wilhelmina when it was established in 1908 and since match play started in 1921, it has remained in the Eredivisie for the longest period. Feyenoord takes the pitch at ‘De Kuip’ (The Tub), officially known as Feijenoord Stadion and it holds about 52,000 fans. Feyenoord Rotterdam shares an intense rivalry with Ajax Amsterdam and each year the two face-off in a match that is known as De Klassieker.
