American funk and electro group Zapp consists of brothers Roger, Lester, Larry and Tony Troutman. The Hamilton, OH-natives pursued music all through the 1970s, even founding their own record label. They later adopted the name Zapp for their group and started playing at small venues in Ohio. It soon developed a solid fan-following and released its debut album in 1980. The eponymous record entered the Top 20, owing to the success of the single "More Bounce to the Ounce." Zapp II dropped in 1982 and was as well-received as its predecessor. Over the course of the decade, it released several albums such as Zapp III, The New Zapp IV U and Zapp V. Its top songs include "Computer Love," "More Bounce to the Ounce," "Doo Wa Ditty," "Be Alright," "Heartbreaker, Pts. 1 & 2" and "I Can Make You Dance, Pt. 1."
